How to Apply

Use Protec(tint) as part of your daily beauty routine. Use your fingers, a sponge or a brush to apply!

  1. Complete your skincare routine and, optionally, apply your favorite primer
  2. Apply Protec(tint) generously and evenly, and blend to your desired coverage
  3. Allow 30 seconds for product to set
  4. If desired, apply another layer for additional coverage

EXPERT TIP:

For layered SPF coverage, wear Protec(tint) on top of one of our four daily primers: Unseen Sunscreen, Glowscreen, Mattescreen or Sheerscreen for your preferred look and finish.

Uses

Helps prevent sunburn • If used as directed, with other sun protection measures (see Directions), decreased the risk of skin cancer, and early skin aging caused by sun.

Warnings

For external use only • Do not use on damaged or broken skin • When using this product, keep out of eyes. Rinse with water to remove. • Stop use and ask a doctor if rash occurs • Keep out of reach of children. If product is swallowed, get medical help or contact a poison control center right away.

Directions

Apply generously and evenly 15 minutes before sun exposure • Reapply at least every 2 hours • Use a water-resistant sunscreen, if swimming or sweating • Sun Protection Measures • Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a Broad Spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures, including: • Limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. • Wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses • Children under 6 months: Ask a doctor

"I was excited to try this product however, the two times I used it weeks apart I developed a rash on my face which took a few days to resolve. The first time I used it, I thought it could be this product, but had also used a couple of other products so I wasn’t 100% sure this was the cause. Finally, a tint that doesn't lean orange!

"I’ve always wanted a tinted sunscreen, but they always look orange on me. Supergoop nailed it with it's Protec(tint)—the shade options are great, and the light warm neutral is a perfect match for my skintone. Plus, I've experienced zero breakouts! ​IMO, using two finger-lengths of the tint alone is too much and ends up cakey. Instead, I do one finger-length of the Unseen Mineral and one of the tint. It’s the perfect combo for a natural, skin-like finish while still offering the recommended amount of sun protection!"

A Little Disappointed

"I am a long time user of Supergoop and decided to switch from the Glowscreen to the Protec(tint), and I have to say, I'm disappointed. I'm actually going to switch to a different tinted moisturizer brand. While the sunscreen does a good job, the coverage becomes splotchy, and now that I'm near the end of the bottle, it won't come out anymore, and it looks like there's about 1/8th left, so I don't like the packaging. You can't utilize all the product nor can you take the cap off to access the rest of it in the bottle."

"If you were a CC Screen lover this may not have the coverage you were hoping for, but the formula is a bit more elegant and still offers decent coverage. I would love to see a physical - zinc in particular- SPF only version. My skin tolerates zinc best & is less reactive to the physical only SPF products in general."

I wish I found this sooner!

"I absolutely love this tinted SPF! The finish is smooth and looks good after 12 hours. I have pretty oily skin and in the past with other facial sunscreens, it would bleed into my eyes, causing burning. I’ve never once had this issue with the Supergoop Protect(Tint). I also have very melanated skin, and I’ve never had an issue with the tint color I’ve ordered. It blends wonderfully. My skin can also be acne prone (thanks hormones), but this never causes breakouts for me."

You used to make a mineral version of these. Did you discontinue? What are options for tinted mineral CC cream?
Hi there, We no longer make CC Screen. Our Protec(tint) is a hybrid mineral and chemical formula that acts a daily skin tint. If you're looking for other tinted options I'd recommend taking a look at Mineral Mattescreen!
Is this water resistant?
Hi Christ, This product is not water resistant. We'd recommend looking at Our Unseen Sunscreen SPF 50 or PLAY formulas for products that are sweat and water resistant!
Can Protec(tint) be safely layered over SPF products containing avobenzone without degradation? Is the zinc oxide coated?
Hi Virginia, Excellent question! Our products are meant to be layered as Protec(tint) is a makeup skin tint, it can be layered over such products as Glowscreen, or Unseen Sunscreen (both which contain avobenzone) as these double as makeup gripping primers. All our Mineral formulas are contain non-nano!
