A whipped airy cream that feels smooth and lightweight with a matte finish. Recommended for normal, combination, oily or sensitive skin.

Why we made it

Mattescreen was created as a daily sunscreen option for those with normal to oily skin, and recommended even for sensitive skin. Its tinted, blendable formula is designed to mattify and smooth skin's appearance while visibly blurring pores and minimizing white cast. Mattescreen is free of pore-clogging oils and provides expert SPF 40 sun protection.

How to Apply

Wear Mattescreen on its own or as a makeup-gripping primer.

  1. Complete your skincare routine
  2. Apply Mattescreen generously and evenly across your face and neck
  3. Allow 30 seconds for product to set before applying makeup

Uses

Helps prevent sunburn • If used as directed with other sun protection measures (see Directions), decreases the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging caused by the sun

Warnings

For external use only • Do not use on damaged or broken skin • Stop use and ask a doctor if rash occurs • When using this product keep out of eyes • Rinse with water to remove • Keep out of reach of children • If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away

Directions

Apply generously and evenly 15 minutes before sun exposure • Reapply at least every 2 hours • Use a water resistant sunscreen if swimming or sweating • Sun Protection Measures. Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with broad spectrum SPF of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: • Limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. • Wear long-sleeve shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses • Children under 6 months: Ask a doctor

"I tried a few of the Supergoop products on the SPF starter kit and I fell in love. The matte sunscreen has been a staple of my everyday routine. "I’ve repurchased Mineral Mattescreen more times than I can count. I have oily, acne-prone skin, and this is one of the ONLY SPF products that has never broken me out. I love how It is truly mattifying!

"My skin is very very oily and it's been very hard to find something that does not make it worse, especially sunscreen I also loved that the delivery packaging had almost no plastic materials! I also liked it a lot that the color really blended onto my skin. I was worried about finding the correct match since there are only a few shades available. I wish the brand (in general) was more eco-friendly though. There's already a lot of materials in the market that can substitute the plastic that containers and refill-bags are made out of. Plastic dependency has to end! I'd love to see refill options for this and more sunscreen types aside from the everyday body one, please! I gave 4 starts because I find it very expensive and eco practices can be improved. That would made me and my friends love the brand! We're looking for nice products but also brands that represent who we are"

"I mix this with the Mineral Glowscreen Soft-Radiance Drops every day over my moisturizer. The mix of the two creates the perfect glowy look. I don't love the Mattescreen on its own because I like a more dewy look. On its own it's quite thick and dry, and it creates a very matte finish."

"This is a very sheer coverage tinted sunscreen - if you're looking for something to cover redness and/or undereye dark circles, you'll need to pair with concealer or use the ProtecTint. I have the MatteScreen in the lightest shade and it blends in perfectly to my skin tone, even if it doesn't do much to hide the aforementioned redness or undereye circles."

Q&A

Does this product have a fragrance or scent?
Hi Michelle, All our formulas are synthetic fragrance free. Natural extracts are sometimes used to add a light refreshing scent like in our PLAY Everyday Day Lotion with Sunflower Extract. Certain ingredients used in sunscreen formulations have a natural scent that may not only come from the sunscreen active themselves. Once it is lathered on to the skin any scent natural to the formulation will dissipate completely.

Hi there, Mineral Unseen is non-tinted, so I'd recommend sticking with that if Mattescreen is too dark.
